Privacy notice
Who is responsible
Tao Climate Limited, Ireland, operates this platform. For questions about personal information or to exercise your rights, contact hello@taoclimate.com.
Information used
Depending on the features you use, we process sign-in identifiers, your name and email, organisation details, enquiries, support requests and feedback. Project workspaces may contain land boundaries, locations, project contacts and evidence you upload. Hosting and security services also process technical request and access information.
Purposes and legal bases
We use information to provide requested accounts and services, take steps towards an agreement when you ask us to, manage project review and respond to enquiries. We rely on legitimate interests to secure and operate the platform, prevent misuse and manage ordinary business correspondence, subject to your rights. Where processing requires consent, we seek it for that purpose. A contact enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing unless you separately tick the optional updates box. We record the wording, time and source of that request. Subscription interest is currently stored as unverified; this release does not send newsletters. You can withdraw your request by emailing hello@taoclimate.com. Any future marketing email must provide an unsubscribe option.
Access and service providers
Project access depends on workspace membership and staff-granted permissions. Publication is separate from private project access. Google Cloud and Firebase support hosting, storage and authentication. Google services support the AI features described in our AI transparency notice. Enquiries, follow-up dates, ownership and staff notes are stored in our staff-only leads workspace. HubSpot synchronisation and automatic email notifications are not connected. Google reCAPTCHA processes technical interaction data when you submit to help detect spam and abuse. You may contact us by email instead. Do not include unnecessary personal or sensitive information in project evidence or AI prompts.
Location and external services
Location features may use IP-derived approximate location; precise device location requires browser permission. Remembered places and sign-in state can be stored in your browser. Map and other external services receive requests when their content is loaded. Existing map attribution and third-party notices remain applicable.
Retention and transfers
We retain information for the purpose for which it was collected, taking account of active services, project evidence and audit needs, unresolved requests, security investigations and legal obligations. Retention differs by record type. Contact us for the period or criteria applying to your records. Cloud services may involve processing outside the EEA under their applicable service terms and transfer safeguards; contact us for the arrangements relevant to your request.
Your rights
Where applicable, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, object to processing, or withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. We may need to verify your identity. You may complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie. This platform does not itself make automated decisions granting certification, credit issuance or account access based on AI output.
